A sister in the ward took Coop and his companion to  a birthday dinner

On my birthday one of the members took us to this super fancy Asian restaurant. It was really cool. And I got the hoop, thanks. I had to go to the  post office because for some reason they don’t deliver it to the apartment, they just give you a paper that says you have a package at the post office. So that’s fun. At Zone Conference the sister missionaries from Luxembourg made a good cake and that was good.

One of our investigators from England is progressing really well and he's really cool.

We watched Conference just at the church. We watched Saturday Morning session at 6pm Saturday night. Then we watched Priesthood Session at 11am on Sunday. Then the Saturday Afternoon session at 2pm, then the Sunday morning session at 6pm. We have to watch the Sunday Afternoon one on our own time later this week. We had someone we're teaching come to the 11am Priesthood session but that was it. But conference was good. It was fun.

Hello!

We really didn’t have any time on Monday to do email so we're doing it really quick this morning, on Tuesday. Thanks for all of the birthday emails, and I got the basketball hoop, thank you!

So A… couldn’t get baptized because he's a refugee and there are a lot of complicated things with that so we have to wait until he's 18  which is in November. That’s the simple explanation. Yeah, he's really bummed about that. And hopefully the lady from Venezuela, her name is P…, will get baptized on the next Saturday. That’s when we have it planned. Hopefully all of that will work out.

Tomorrow we have a big Zone Conference in Paris. I'm sure you'll see a bunch of pics on facebook about it.

I don’t know how General Conference is going to work yet. I'll find out on Saturday! And yesterday we went to this really cool thing in the city. It's like these historic cave sites. They're cool. I'll send pics next week because I don’t have time right now. Get better mom!

Transfers happened and my new companion is Elder Watts. He's from Buena Park, California, which is right next to Anaheim. He's only been out just one transfer longer than I have but his French is really good. He went as a foreign exchange student for 10 months in Germany so he knows German a little bit too. And the other new missionary that came is Elder Gutelius. He's part Peruvian and part Japanese. He actually went to Orem High as a sophomore when I was in 9th grade and when Maren was a senior. He played on the soccer team. But after that year he moved to Arizona. And then there's Elder Esparza who's been in Luxembourg for a while. 

We have a lot of potentials but its hard setting up lessons and planning for everything with all the people we already are teaching (which is a good thing).  But yesterday at church the lady from Venezuela came to all 3 hours of church, and after church there was a baptism for someone the sister missionaries were teaching and she went to the baptism after also! We had to drive 20 minutes to a swimming pool that a ward member rented out for the baptism because the church here doesn’t have a font. It was cool that she wanted to come to the baptism and she is becoming friends with the ward members too so that’s really good!

I will be in our apartment for my birthday. We won’t be moving until around November when the apartment will be sold.

Hello...

This last week was crazy. The elder from Italy went home last Monday, just a week early before the end of his mission, because he had to go to his brother's wedding. So he's finished and we had to be in a threesome of missionaries just for the week. So we taught a lot of lessons to people this week. Some people are close to baptism. One of them is going to be baptized next week on Sunday! He is really cool, he's from Somalia and he speaks English, Greek, and a little bit of Arabic. He lived in Greece for a while so that’s how he knows Greek. Last Tuesday night this lady came up to us while we were waiting for the bus to go home and she said she just had this feeling to come talk to us and to learn more about the church! She is from Venezuela but she speaks English fluently too. We taught a lesson with her at the church a few days later and she loved the church and the pictures of Christ and other stuff there too. She didn’t come to church yesterday because she isn’t feeling well right now but we're going to see her later in the week.

So today was transfers. Elder Bananier is leaving and going to Brussels, and I'm going to..........nowhere. I'm staying. My new companions name is Elder Watts... That’s all I know. I don’t know who he is and I haven’t met him. Hopefully he can speak some Spanish because we have some people that we teach who speak Spanish or Portuguese. If not, then I’m going to have to learn Spanish!

So it's the same old BYU from the past two years. Always with a chance to win pretty easily but never can. Oh well, too bad.  

There are a lot of trees by where I live. And yeah there's also a train station, but its super tiny. There are a million train places all over Europe. They have trains that go everywhere, as well as buses, so there's just a lot of busy stuff going on all the time. 

I have no idea what kind of food is Luxembourgish. All I eat for breakfast is weird oatmeal chocolate type of cereal, and for lunch or dinner I either make a grilled cheese sandwhich, cook up some pasta and open a can of sauce and cook some meat patty things, cook some rice and eat with some spicy sauce and meat, or eat canned raviolis. Thats what I've been eating since I got to France haha. The food that everyone buys at stores is pretty normal, just different in a European way, and also 3 times more expensive than back home. And the people I live with don't eat anything weird either. There isn't really anything here that's American other than probably a Pizza Hut, but even then they change it so its all European and different. There's also McDonalds everywhere, but it's super fancy. We go to members homes a lot. That's pretty good!  And the ones that invite us over are all either from the US or England, so its fun!
